So, I wrote a very, very long post on my phone and then I lost connection and lost it... I will not be rewriting the whole thing (honestly it was LONG) but to put a long story short, I have been ill since Thursday thought it was a cold, hadn't any better for 5 days so went to the GP this morning and.... It turns out I have flu and 37.7 Celsius temperature ;/

I was therefore hoping that anyone here knows some home flu remedies other than stuffing oneself with garlic, onion and vitamin C because I am doing that already...

On a more positive note, how is everyone doing? Hope you are all feeling better than myself :P

You're probably just gonna have to wait it out. If you have a runny nose, blow it a lot...it's better out than in. And be sure and eat very nutritious stuff while you're sick, it helps your immune system be able to fight back.

Shannon, tbh I can barely eat anything at all right now - I have totally lost my appetite ;/ I have gone on a sandwich per day since Thursday and having eaten just that one sandwich per day I feel close to nauseous... I do have small snacks every now and again too - otherwise I wouldn't have been able to take the meds ;/

Annie, what is Lycine? I cannot seem to find it anywhere... Unless you meant the amino acid Lysine xD I am already taking advantage of lemons, garlic, Vix Vapour and sleep though :) only thing I am not taking having for this flu is green tea but there is none in the house (we never have green tea, I do drink Pu Ehr though - Chinese red tea thingy, it is disgusting but it helps with water retention which I have trouble with xD) and no one can get it for me until Monday (parents are coming back on Sunday) so I will have to pass that :)

I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well Samantha. What helps me when I am sick is to use pillows to help me keep my head elevated so my sinuses clear. I usually end up sleeping in a roughly 120 degree angle sitting in bed while snuggling with a panda plushie (I might be a little old for it but it's comforting). Also unsweetened honey helps if your throat gets sore. Granted this is stuff I do when I have a common cold. I don't remember ever having the flu but then again I don't know if I've had a flu shot either.

And I am pretty sure that you would have known if you had flu - I had several colds up until now but this felt nothing like any of them. But then everyone claims that the flu this year is particularly nasty so maybe it is not usually this bad o.O I never had flu shots before either.... Tbh didn't have them this year either xD I am not usually prone to disease but this year my stress levels have gone ridiculously high ;/

I know what you mean. I've seen on the news people who even got te shot are getting sick and yet my family seems to remain healthy. Well flu free...

Oh, the shots are a bit of a bogus thing either way xD they only make you immune to LAST SEASON's flu and not this years one so that is no wonder xD but it seems to be a more intense one than every other year if that makes any sense....

I hate getting shots anyway but I do know that too much use of an antibiotic whether it's a vaccine or otherwise actually will cause the virus/bacteria mutate to a new strain and then we are all at risk once again.

Antibiotics should only ever be used in the most rare of cases, IMO. People abuse them and then complain that nothing seems to be treated by antibiotics... Then again lots of people also stop their course of antibiotics when they feel better which is the worst thing they could possibly do...

As for an update I seem to be over the flu for most part now but I seem to be getting a new problem (I have no idea what is with me and infections atm) but I seem to have either gained a gum infection OR one of my wisdom teeth started coming out... The pain is excruciating though and my left cheek is twice its normal size o.O

I am a disease magnet right now and I am not enjoying it especially that I was always a really healthy individual o.O
