Introduction
Hello there! I'm Liz Phillips- I'm extremely new to the world of RPG of this kind of sort, so I think a so are starting out game would be perfect for me to learn the ropes because of the currently smaller community size. Honestly as of right now I have no idea what exactly to do to start of the sort, if anybody would care to help a new comer out that would be fabulous. I plan on becoming a fully active member of the community once I fully understand how to play and help others :D

About the real Liz!
Some information about the real Liz, I'm 20 years of age, located in Southern Wisconsin and expecting her first born (Feb 17th due date) with my lovely boyfriend. I've been involved with horses for the last 12 years respectively. I started out with the basics of Dressage and learned hunter/jumper and most recent took lessons in Saddleseat. As you can see I'm sort of a Jack-of-all-trades in the English world, so if you have any questions feel free to ask! I do have my 2006 Saddlebred Gelding (got in 2010) when I was taking Saddleseat, Although he is my Hunter Saddlebred instead of Saddleseat I have and can ride him in a double bridle he just doesn't have the leg action to compete well enough in the saddleseat ring, I hope to show him locally this summer in between work and the newest edition to the family.

About the Sim Liz!
I guess for the game this is the part that really matters right? In some aspects both Sim and Real Liz are similar in person because I truely based her and her family off mine, with the twist of running her own horse farm someday. Together Liz and her fiance own and operate Foxtrot Farms- A fully operated and functional Saddlebred & Thoroughbreds to have the finest purebreds as well as crosses for the Saddlebred Sport Horse for the hunter, jumper & dressage show rings. Back to about Liz, She's 20 years of age with her 22 year old fiance and they have a young daughter. Currently the process of there new homestead is under construction as well as their site. It should be soon up though!

Questions There may be *a ton* of them. :D But Hey! Questions get answers, and answers lead to knowledge! Also- Most of these are probably horse related but I assume can easily work towards cat/dogs as well.
•Registries- I see some threads have "registered" horses for sale. How exactly do they work and how do I get a horse registered? Does S-P have a registry for its horses or is it based from another RPG game? I saw that one of our forum members is the owner(?) of the Thoroughbred registry. Does anybody know of if there is a Saddlebred Registry?
•Other Forums- I also have noticed members are members of other larger type forums of similar stature. Is it best to be also on those as well for a wider base of advertising horses for stud/sale? As well as for showing horses/cats/dogs?
•Selling/Studding- This may sound dumb, but I have no idea how selling/studding a pet out goes. I've read a couple things on it and have noticed that usually once a pet is sold/adopted that the new owner is the only person to have that animal and the creator may have an extra as a backup in case. Its the process of sending that animal to the person that I get confused about and don't understand.

Thank you so much for any help to my questions. And I'm super excited to join the family!

Hello! Glad to have another new member join :D I will attempt to answer your questions to the best of my ability (I was a newbie recently so I know how it feels :D).
So, as for your first question - the registries. The horse registry system is still in the working as we will be sharing it with another RPG site so for the time being any registered horses are registered under other sites but horse registries should be up soon. Cat, dog and other registries are based over on our end so if you want to host a registry that is not yet listed (say for the dachshund or Persian) then you are more than welcome to do so through the mane site :)
As for the other forums it is up to you, since there is so few members here at the moment it does make it easier if you are also on a bigger forum when it comes to sales and similar things but it is not a necessity :) hopefully we will manage to spread the word and get more members to join us and it will no longer be needed then :)
Lastly the selling and studding. It is basically sending an animal to he new owner as a .sim3.pack or a .sim file. This is done through entering the CAP with the pet and either saving it to the bin, in which case you would get a .sim file of that pet in your saved Sims folder or through uploading the pet to exchange in which case you get the pets .sims3.pack in the exports folder :) some people actually get the foal/horse and a person in a family to not loose skill points and only upload them to the exchange as a family - same principle though in that case, they will be found in your exports folder.
Getting bought pets depends on what sort of file they are - if they are a .sim pack you just plop them straight into your saved Sims folder if they are .sims3.pack files then you just install them like anything else of the exchange :)
As for keeping backup copies that simply means that the breeder keeps the copy of the file in case someone's computer breaks or a thing of that nature :) studding works in a similar way though id you are sending a pregnant mare then she always has to be exported as a part of the family otherwise the pregnancy will be lost.

Gosh, that turned out long xD sorry about that :) also forgot to say that we are very excited to have you join our little family too and let us know when the baby arrives :D you must be excited about it :)

EDIT: Also a small tip do not go crazy with the amount of breeds you breed like myself - I love them and won't give up any of them but it makes things terribly difficult when you have about 20-30 of each species xD

EDIT 2: I just realised your due date is today o.O gosh that must be exciting!

First off, congrats on your new baby and welcome to the forum! Did he/she arrive on time? My son came exactly on his due date, although I went into labor 42 hours before! Not a nice experience for me, I actually almost died... but totally worth it! My son is 15 months old now, and is the most perfect little thing I could have ever hoped for!

Samantha did a great job answering your questions, so I'll try to be brief!

As for horse registries - Each registry is owned by a different person usually. A regular person like you or me who may be interested in a breed will choose to host a registry, so will in turn set up a website and take applications from other people to register their horses based off of their lineage and screenshots to show that the horse meets the breed requirements.

At this time, Sims-Pets is not taking applications for horse registries because we are in the process of joining up with another Equine-only site (Western Eventing Forums), who are going to be hosting the horse registry list. So we plan to work together with them once their new site is up, which we are very excited about! So that is why we are only at this time listing dog/cat/other species on our main site, and only accepting applications for those types of registries. :)

There are a few larger sites, specifically for horses, if that is what you are interested in, we will not hold you back from joining them as well, me myself am an active member on the Western Eventing Forums, which I personally prefer over any other horse sites (that I will not name). :) We will become a larger community with time, but keep in mind that this site just came out literally this month, February 4th or 5th I think. We are not solely focusing on just horses, we are a community for ALL species. :) But like I said, the WEF is a great horse community that we will hopefully we working together with here at Sims-Pets!

Selling a pet - When you choose to sell a pet, you basically are just emailing the exported file to the new owner and then deleting that pet from your own game. Some people choose to keep a file on their computer, I personally don't, because the file I send out will always be in my sent box in my email, in case something happens.

Studding a pet - When you stud out your pets, usually the female is sent to the owner of the male, that person installs their female into their game, breeds her with the chosen stud, and once pregnancy is comfirmed you send the pregnant mare back to the original owner and delete her from your game. You would need to export her by using the "split up household" option from the edit town screen, and "split" the female pet and a travel sim into their own household and then once those two are in your clipboard, you save that household (of travel sim and female pet) into your library, and then that is the file you send back to the owner! Some people choose to hold the female until she gives birth, and then send her and the newborn back to the owner (after you edit the newborns coat to your liking if you choose to do so). Of course, always deleting the other persons animal from your game, computer, and email promptly (unless otherwise agreed on) is common courtesy.

Hope we have helped you, and not overwhelmed you! :D But I am sure once your little one is born, you wont even have time to play the sims for a while! I am speaking from experience! :D:D

Also I would like to say to you Liz, that once your new baby is born, even if you don't have time to play the sims, please feel free to still join us on the forums even just to chat about life, or your new baby, or if you need any advice, or just someone to talk to! You can add me on skype also if you use it, I'm almost always on there chatting with friends from the sims. :) Myself and Annabelle Rhodes are both new moms (and sisters in real life), our babies are 5 weeks apart; my son is 15 months now and her daughter is almost 14 months. So new baby stuff is fresh in our minds and I'm sure both of us would be glad to chat with you! :D!

Yeah, I do think we covered everything :) and as for visiting us after the baby comes even if there is no time for Sims certainly do Liz :D I personally won't be personally very likely to be much help with the baby stuff as I don't have any babies and only the smallest experience from babysitting my cousin who's 12 years younger than myself and whom I babysat a fair bit when she was tiny but I can attempt to help with anything else :)

Lol, I was just going to welcome her and tell her that we had babies 5 weeks apart :cyclops:
---
So here is my welcome! WELCOME! We are literally SO SO glad to have you. Having a new born can be overwhelming at times and if your baby was born on time you are probably in the hospital right now and may not see any of this for a few days. Any who, I hope your labor went/goes better then mine and my sisters did. We both had complications. Though hers threatened her life, mine threatened my daughters life. ): So you can see why I hope you have a better labor than us, right? Like Fiona said, feel free to talk to us and ask us questions, baby stuff really is fresh in our minds. haha.

^^ Look I didn't ramble on as much as them!

I really do plan on sticking around just because this right now is a smaller community- its a lot less overwhelming. I did start a site for my farm- I just haven't had the time to get on sims and actually get it built (last minute baby stuffs)

So far the baby still hasn't decided to come out and is happily still nesting around making us wait.

Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl or are you letting it be a surprise? I couldnt wait to find out what I was having, I found out very early, at around week 12. I was having a boy though, so it was easier for them to tell!

I so want to know whether you have given birth by now, if you and the baby are ok and what gender the baby is... This wait for some info is really doing my head in xD

I'm so curious too! I'm guessing she had the baby by now, since it is over a week past her due date, they usually induce labor after a week, two weeks past the due date at the latest. So she's probably super busy with the baby! After Hayden was born, I didn't do anything but baby stuff for at least 2 months lol.
